What is the HS 1313 DV IFS?

The HS 1313 DV IFS is a dual-view X-ray inspection system engineered specifically for the aviation catering and in-flight services industry. It screens loaded airline service trolleys, catering carts, bar carts and airside logistics equipment in a single pass, rather than requiring them to be unloaded and repacked. How big is the HS 1313 DV IFS tunnel?

The tunnel opening is 1305 mm wide by 1310 mm high, which clears a full-height airline service trolley. The complete system measures 3665.5 mm long by 1755 mm wide by 1865 mm high and weighs 1650 kg uncrated, so floor loading and access route are part of the site survey.

Do trolleys have to be lifted onto the machine?

No. The integrated Trolley Flow System conveyor sits at 300 to 350 mm above floor level and is fed by a ramp, so a loaded trolley is rolled on and off at floor level. That removes the manual handling and the lifting equipment a standard cargo X-ray would need, and keeps a repeatable inspection process from loading through to discharge. The conveyor takes up to 330 kg evenly distributed.

Can the conveyor be configured to fit an existing catering facility?

Yes. The conveyor is engineered per installation: length, orientation, transfer configuration, bends and overall geometry are designed around the available footprint, trolley dimensions, loading heights and workflow. That is how the system fits into existing airline catering units where space, height and operational efficiency are all constrained.

Why dual view and dual 200 kV generators for catering trolleys?

A loaded catering trolley is a dense, cluttered object. Dual 200 kV generators give the penetration to see through it, and dual-view imaging captures two independent perspectives in one scan, which reduces blind spots and improves the chance of identifying a prohibited article concealed inside a packed cart. A single-view machine looking at the same trolley leaves far more hidden.

Why it exists

Built For Catering, Not Adapted From Cargo

Most trolley screening is done on a cargo machine that was designed for pallets and then pressed into service. It works, after a fashion — but it means lifting equipment, awkward loading heights, a footprint that does not suit a production unit, and a conveyor that was never laid out around the way trolleys actually move through a building.

The 1313 IFS was engineered from the ground up around the operational reality of a modern airline catering facility: the CONOPS, the space constraints, the loading heights and the workflow. That is the difference between screening that fits the operation and screening the operation has to work around.
