We operate a dedicated facility for the controlled strip-down and recycling of X-ray screening equipment — proven across more than 120 systems to date, from compact checkpoint units to full hold-baggage EDS machines and body scanners, across all the major marques, with 50+ machines saved from scrap altogether and refurbished back into our hire fleet. Processes, tooling and downstream recycling partnerships are in place, at scale.

Reuse First, Always
The greenest machine is the one that doesn't get scrapped. 50+ X-rays have been assessed, refurbished and returned to service in our hire fleet, and recycling steel instead of smelting new saves in the region of 90+ tonnes of CO₂ across the programme.
Plastics come out too, not just metal: X-ray light covers, keyboards, the mouldings inside generators and every metre of cable trunking are stripped out and recycled separately — around 9 tonnes of plastic so far.
