Hands-on familiarisation on the actual machine your team will use — delivered by the engineers who install and maintain it. Every system we supply, and plenty we didn't.
Accredited Screener & Search
X-ray screener, bag search, walk-through metal detector and body search, and explosives trace detection — accredited courses arranged through our approved training partners.
Radiation & Compliance
Certified Radiation Protection Supervisor and radiation awareness training, so the duties IRR17 places on your people are actually met, not assumed.

Equipment Operator Training
The most common reason a checkpoint underperforms isn't the equipment — it's that nobody ever properly showed the team how to use it. We train operators on every system we supply, hire and service, using your own machine and your own procedures wherever possible.
- X-ray machines: safe operation, daily checks, image controls and functions, what to do when something looks wrong
- Walk-through & handheld metal detectors: setup, sensitivity, alarm resolution and secondary search flow
- Explosives trace detectors: sampling technique, verification, consumables and routine care
- Liquid explosive detection & substance identification: correct use, interpreting results, when to escalate
- Body scanners: operating position, screening flow and resolution procedure
- AI-assisted lanes: how to work alongside automatic detection rather than against it
It's equally useful for new starters, for refreshers after turnover, and after an upgrade when a familiar machine suddenly behaves differently. And you don't need to have bought the equipment from us.

Accredited Screener and Search Training
Beyond knowing which buttons to press, screening staff need to know what they're looking for and how to resolve it lawfully and respectfully. Through our approved training partners we can arrange accredited, certificated courses covering the full checkpoint:
- X-ray screener training: image interpretation, prohibited and restricted items, threat recognition and screening procedure
- Bag search training: systematic hand search technique, resolving X-ray alarms, what good looks like under pressure
- WTMD & body search training: archway operation, alarm resolution, handheld technique and dignified, lawful searching of people
- ETD training: explosives trace sampling, alarm resolution and verification
Delegates are certificated on completion, and courses can be tailored to the sector you work in, whether that's aviation, government, venues and events, corporate reception or retail. Because it comes through RedteQ, the equipment, the engineers who maintain it and the training your team receives all come from one supplier.
A legal duty
RPS and Radiation Awareness Training
If you operate an X-ray machine, the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 place duties on your people as well as your equipment. Two of them are training duties.
- Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) training: where local rules are required — and for a security X-ray machine they usually are — you must appoint an RPS to supervise the work, and that person has to be suitably trained. Our certified course covers local rules, designated areas, contingency arrangements, dose control and records.
- Radiation awareness training: IRR17 requires that every employee working with ionising radiation is given adequate information, instruction and training. Our certified course gives operators and supervisors a working understanding of the risks, the safety systems on their machine and why the local rules say what they say.
Both are certificated for your compliance file, and both pair naturally with an independent radiation survey so the machine and the people are covered in the same visit.

Certificated & Recorded
Delegates leave with certificates for your compliance file, and we can build refresher training into a service contract so it doesn't quietly lapse.
