Malta To Miami, Southampton To Puerto Rico

Cruise ship screening equipment doesn't come to us — we go to it. RedteQ engineers fly to ships wherever they are berthed, from Malta to Miami, Southampton to Puerto Rico and Germany to Canada, to service and repair even the most complex systems inside a turnaround window that will not move.

The Clock Is The Hard Part

A ship in port is on a schedule measured in hours. Passengers disembark, the vessel is turned around, the next few thousand embark — and every one of them passes through screening. If a machine is down, there is no option to book an engineer for next Tuesday.

That makes cruise work one of the most time-critical service environments we operate in. Parts have to be anticipated and carried, diagnosis has to be right first time, and the work has to be finished before the gangway reopens. Our engineers plan these visits around the itinerary rather than the diary: fly to the port the ship will actually be in, board, fix, verify, and be off before she sails.

Why Multi-Brand Matters At Sea

Very few ships run a single manufacturer's equipment. Fleets are built and refitted over decades, so a vessel might carry X-ray machines from one marque, archways from another and trace detectors from a third — some of them long out of manufacturer support.

A single-brand service provider can only ever fix part of that, which means multiple suppliers, multiple visits and multiple sets of travel costs for equipment sitting metres apart on the same deck. Because RedteQ is genuinely multi-brand, one engineer on one visit can work across everything aboard — and increasingly that is exactly why cruise lines call us. One attendance, whole checkpoint, back in service.

What We Do Aboard

  • Service and repair across brands: X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors and trace detectors, whoever made them
  • Complex faults, not just consumables: generators, controllers, boards and imaging chains diagnosed properly
  • Planned around the itinerary: we meet the ship where it will be, not where it was
  • Parts carried and anticipated: because there is no spares supplier for X-ray parts on a foreign dockside
  • Verified before we leave: image quality and safety checks completed, so the checkpoint sails ready
